“For we walk by faith, not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7 KJV

Today, as I was speaking with a friend, they shared with me a pure desire to change a career path and move into one that they believed was more suitable for them, one that they had been praying for. They had applied to several positions, yet always seemed to stall when presented with an interview opportunity. When I asked them what was hindering them from making the move into the potential next career opportunity they stated that they were afraid of losing income if the job turned out not to be a good fit. As I listened to them speak, I began to wonder how many of us stay in stagnant situations because we are afraid of what’s next and I was reminded of the scripture in 2 Corinthians 5:7 which says: “For we walk by faith, not by sight.”
We don’t always know what is coming next in life, but when God unctions us to move, we need to take action swiftly with wisdom and prayer. The bible says, “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6 KJV. God does not want us to have a lack for anything, in fact, He desires to meet each and every one of our needs.
We see this evidenced in 1st Chronicles 4:10 with the prayer of Jabez in which Jabez prayed to God to enlarge his territory and the keep him from evil and God granted his request. Imagine if Jabez has been afraid to receive the blessing that he had prayed for.
Today I call on you to take courage and to step out on faith and make that next move that God is calling you to make. God’s word says: “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord and He delighteth in his way.” Psalm 37:23. God will never lead you astray, so trust Him and go forth!!!!
